FIRST LEGO League success for the 2015/16 Challenge champions Hall Park Academy

Congratulations are due to the 2015/2016 Tomorrow's Engineers EEP Robotics challenge winners, Hall Park Academy from Nottinghamshire, who have achieved a decisive regional win at their first FIRST® LEGO® League tournament.
FIRST® LEGO® League is an international challenge developed by FIRST and Lego, with over 32,000 teams taking part in 88 countries. In the UK around 600 teams do battle in 40 regional challenges, with winners of the National final invited to compete for the Global title at the World Festival in St Louis, USA in April 2017. Also they will be invited to compete at the International Open Championship, which being held for the first time in the UK at a venue in Bath, as well as the Open European Championship in Aarhus, Denmark.
The Tomorrow’s Engineers EEP Robotics Challenge is designed to provide schools and teachers with the resources and training in LEGO robotics engineering, and the skills to not be daunted entering such a huge international competition as the FIRST® LEGO® League. Hall Park Academy’s win is a brilliant achievement.
One of the students in the team, Imogen, said “without doing the Tomorrows Engineers challenge we wouldn't be where we are today as it gave us a head start on learning programming and enhancing our presentation skill.”
Hall Park science teacher, Emma Worker, said the Tomorrow's Engineers EEP Robotics Challenge "really gave us a head start on what to do and expect."
Having beaten all the other teams in their area Hall Park Academy will now go on to face the other heat winners at the FIRST® LEGO® League National final at the University of West of England in Bristol. Tomorrow’s Engineers EEP Robotics Challenge 2015/2016 runners up, Wallace Hall Academy, also won their heat in Glasgow and will be joining Hall Park Academy to compete again.
The final takes place on the 26th February 2017, and like the rest of the challenge in the UK and Ireland is being delivered by the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
